October 8th, 1927 - February 2nd, 2006
Collins- James Leo 78 of St. Petersburg passed away Thursday February 2, 2006 at his home. He came here in 2005 from his native Boston Massachusetts, where he was a district chief for the Boston Fire Department. During World War II, he served in the Navy. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Jeanne; a daughter Denise Gabriel of St. Petersburg; two sons James of Marion MA and David of Boston MA; a brother Herbert of Wellesley MA; two sisters June Brown of California and Catherine Collins of New Hampshire; seven grandchildren; James, Ayla, Courtney, Siobhan, Catherine, Dalton and Jennifer and one great-grandson Brian. David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family. Funeral services will be 12:30PM Monday, February 6, 2006 in the David C. Gross Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Florida. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30AM until service time. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday, February 11 2006 in St. Anthony's Church, Mattatoisette MA. Service Information
