March 21st, 1915 - July 15th, 2011
The Ritterstein family of Cocoa Beach mourns the peaceful passing of its patriarch Leon Ritterstein, 96 on Friday, July 15, 2011. Leon “Tiny” will be remembered affectionately as a generous man, full of wisdom and warmth who shared with those around him, who worked tirelessly in honor of a legacy that spans four generations. He joins his wife, Anita, of 44 years. He is survived by his sister Paula Brockman, son Gary “Kitchens” Ritterstein, daughter in law, Barbie; their children Lori, Gary Jr., Matt, Bryan, and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kaitlyn Das. Ritterstein came to America in 1927, from Czechoslovakia ; was raised in Brooklyn , NY . He served in the Coast Guard before joining the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; working his way up to a master electrician; most recently receiving his 60 year pin with the IBEW local # 25. He came toCocoa Beach during the twilight of his life until that shining star began guiding his journey beyond. Memorial Service will be held at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Sunday, July 31 at 1:00pm.
