JOHN KANE OBITUARY AND PICTURE: John H. Kane Jr., 61, of Palm Shores, FL passed away suddenly over the weekend. Born on May 5, 1950 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John H. Kane Sr. and Monica (Ahearn) Kane. John was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1972 where he received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He also served in the Military Reserves until 1975. He served on the Cocoa Beach Police Department for 14 years retiring as a Lieutenant in 2004. John is survived by his children Julie (Paul) Moran of Middleboro, MA, Kelly (Brad) Daniel of Berkley, MA, SSgt. Ryan C. Kane, US Air Force currently stationed in Korea; his beloved dog Ivory; six grandchildren all of Massachusetts; sisters, Maureen (Jack) Minihan; Candace (James) Means, Monica (Raymond) Duffy; and his nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the father of the late Lauren Anne Kane. Calling hours will be from 12pm until 2pm Thursday, August 18, 2011 with services to follow at 2pm at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach.
