Marie D. Chacon

Marie D. Chacon June 17, 1929 ~ February 14, 2023 Marie D. Chacon, 93, of Lakewood, CO was called to heaven on February 14, 2023. She peacefully passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, just as she had always wanted! She was a lovely and generous lady of strong, determined, courageous and independent character! Just as with her own mother, even strangers would comment that she was so sweet! She is dearly loved and greatly missed! Her husband, Abel Chacon, built the family home in Lakewood, CO in 1961 when Lakewood was a rural area. She was a homemaker who enjoyed working seasonally in clothing retail and for several years selling at the flea markets. Her interests were music, reading, crocheting, painting, home decor and crafts and traveling with family. She was an avid shopper and loved beautiful fashion. She also loved animals and her favorite charity was the Dumb Friends League. She is survived by her daughter, Lorelei Marie Chacon, nee Wilemon, Welsch of Lakewood, CO; her son Alan Abel Chacon and wife Sherri, nee Kirk, Chacon of Lakewood, CO; three grandsons, Shaun Chacon, Josh Wilemon and Justin Kirk; six great grandchildren, Kira, Demitrius, Kaden, Jaxon, Cru and Lila. A private service for the immediate family to be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery. There is no formal reception.
