Elias Acosta Rivera
May 28th, 1935 - March 31st, 2023
Elias Acosta Rivera was born on May 28, 1935, in Laredo, Texas and passed away peacefully in the presence of our Lord, his wife, and children on March 31, 2023 -at home in Westminster, Colorado. Elias (Eli) was a loving, caring, and generous son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Elias was raised in West Denver and attended Denver West High School while working with his father at F. Rivera and Sons where he learned the trade of bricklaying, and he helped support his family. On January 1, 1956, Elias Acosta Rivera married the love of his life- Esther Isela Valdez and enjoyed a wonderful and blessed family union (children, grandchildren, great children) for over 67 years. Elias continued his masonry career with his brother Ben and created a business entitled Rivera Brothers Masonry (both became masters in the masonry trade). Elias created his final business with his own name -Elias Rivera Masonry which he worked in the Denver Metropolitan area for over 30 years. As a son of a minister, he too had a passion for the Lord and the ministry of the Lord. Elias was in the music and worship ministry for many years as a talented musician (piano, organ, guitar) and served in youth ministry in his earlier years. Elias was a member of a Gospel Music Group for several years as well, all while owning his Masonry business. Elias Acosta Rivera is proceeded in death by his parents: Reverend Florentino Rivera and Maria Acosta Rivera. Elias Acosta Rivera is proceeded in death by his siblings: Isaac Rivera (Grace), Molly Duarte (Fred), Ezekiel Rivera (Florence), Aurora Arguello (Gabriel), Benjamin Rivera (Alice), Eva Gonzales (Geno), Anna Marie Borquez, and sister-in-law Lillian Rivera; Elias Acosta Rivera is survived by his wife Esther Isela Valdez Rivera and his children: Elias Rivera (DeRae), Esther Anna Rivera Milne (Shawn), Ruben Rivera, Gabriel Rivera, brother John Rivera and sister Mary Rivera. Funeral Services will be held at The Crossings Church of the Nazarene, 3501 W 104th Ave, Westminster, CO 80031. A Viewing will be held at 11:00am, and Funeral to follow at 12:00pm, Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
