All-States Cremation - Westminster
Wilburta T Miller
November 25th, 1927 - March 26th, 2023
Wilburta Miller passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023. Willi was born to Wilbur Milo Tainter and Louella Straughan Tomlin on November 25, 1927, in Colorado Springs, CO. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1946 and then attended the University of Denver where she became a life-long member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Willi married her high school sweetheart, Loren Deane Miller, on June 22, 1949, in the Shove Memorial Chapel on the campus of Colorado College. Willi and Loren celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary a few months before Loren passed away in 2009. After marriage, Willi joined Loren in San Francisco where he finished his studies at the Stanford School of Medicine, and then they moved to Salt Lake City where Loren did his internship. Halfway through that internship, their first child, Stephen, was born. After Loren completed his internship, they moved to Salinas, CA, where Loren practiced medicine until the Korean War and, since the Navy sent Loren through college and medical school, Loren was called to active duty as a ship’s doctor. Willi and Loren moved to San Diego. Their second child, Deborah, was born in San Diego. After the Korean War, Willi and Loren moved back to Colorado Springs where Loren practiced general medicine for a couple of years. Then it was on to Denver where Loren did his residency in radiology. While living in Denver, Willi and Loren had two more sons, Jonathan and Christopher. They moved next, with their four children, to Columbine Valley where they welcomed their fifth child, Jennifer. After their children had grown, Willi and Loren moved to Roxborough Park. During their first fourteen years of marriage, Willi and Loren lived in seven cities, in three states, had five children, and always kept a loving and supportive household for themselves and their family. In addition to all of that, Willi became an avid bridge player and golfer, and she continued her involvement with her sorority, PEO, and other activities. Willi is survived by her children: Stephen Allan Miller (Cheryl), Deborah Ann Long (Tom), Jonathan David Miller (Linda), Christopher Gregory Miller (Katie), Jennifer Leslie Nichols (Scott); twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. No formal services are planned. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
