Ronald Lee Nash
May 8th, 1949 - April 26th, 2023
Ronald Lee Nash was called home on April 26, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Ron is survived by his wife Karla Nash and his wonderful children Holly (Richard) Pryor, Desiree Nash, Amber Nash, and Shane (Melissa) Nash. The joys in his life included his 9 grandchildren, Lance Lindenfeld, Makenna Nash Patrick, Savannah Patrick, Timothy Xavier Patrick, Katlyn (Anthony) Medel, Steven Pryor, Alex Wolf, Ryder Porter, and his card playing buddy, Raygen Nash. He is also survived by his brother Mike Nash along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other family members. His mother Garnetta (Knight) Badolato and his fathers Frank Badolato and Edwin Nash proceeded him in death along with his beloved brother Jerry Badaloto and sister Teresa Rutledge. Ron was born on May 8, 1949 in Emporia, Kansas and was called home on April 26, 2023. He had been a Thornton, Colorado resident for many years and spent his working career in the construction field. Ron is, and always will be, a proud Marine. Ron served in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star with Valor. The Bronze Star with ‘V’ was one of Ron’s most valued possessions. The Star denoted his combat heroism and meritorious achievement. But Ron cherished his decoration in honor of his fellow soldiers and buddies who didn’t return home after Vietnam. He wore his star to honor THEIR memory and service. His dedication and love for the Corps and his fellow veterans was always reflected in what he accomplished. Ron was a hard-working family man with a wealth of knowledge and an ability to build, fix, or create anything asked of him. He was a compassionate man with a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He was a friend who valued all of those who entered his life. Long and deep friendships were important to Ron and he enjoyed solving the world’s problems with his best friend Jerry Staff Jr. while bantering back and forth. Coffee with Jerry was always a highlight of Ron’s day. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sharing the excitement of a new hunter having their first successful hunt especially the children. Teaching his son and daughters how to hunt and fish was important to him and when the grandchildren came around, he was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to teach them as well. While Ron was an ‘outdoor’ man, he also took time to enjoy city trips and general life with his wife of 40 years. He had a good soul and patience to spoil her with love, ‘honey-do projects’, friendship, silly indulgences and humor. Ron was her protector and hero always coming to her rescue when times were difficult. Service, God, country, family and friends were all important to Ron. He could carry on a conversation with a complete stranger and would come to anyone’s rescue when they needed him. His children and grandchildren were his best work and he was proud of everyone of them. He will truly be missed and we will never be able to express how much. Ron will be laid to rest on May 18, 2023 at Fort Logan Cemetery at 11:30 AM. Those wishing to attend can gather at Staging Area B and will be escorted to the site of the honors. The family invites those who wish to Celebrate Ron’s Life to join them for lunch at the VFW Post 7945 @ 10217 Quivas St, Thornton CO 80260 immediately following at 1 PM.
