Harold Douglas Bingham

HAROLD DOUGLAS BINGHAM JUNE 29, 1925 - APRIL 10, 2013 Harold Douglas Bingham was the son of Harold Spencer Bingham and Jessie Morgan Bingham born June 29, 1925 in Highland Park, Illinois. He graduated from Highland Park High School, class of 1943 and served in the Army Air Force. On August 23, 1948 he married Mary Elizabeth Jackson from Winnetka, Illinois. In September 1948 he was hired by Eastern Airlines and soon after moved to Miami where his 35 year career began flying the old piston engine aircraft and retired as Captain of the Boeing-727. In 1989, he and his wife moved to Melbourne, FL to be closer to his children. His interests included flying gliders on the weekends as well as flying one of the 22 airplanes he owned over his lifetime. Woodworking was one of his favorite hobbies which resulted in many beautifully handcrafted clocks and toys for his grandchildren. His aviation legacy will continue through his son Scott and grandson Anthony. ""Doug"" as most of his friends knew him by, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather of 6 beautiful grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in July 2001. He is survived by his son Scott (Judy), daughters; Debbie (Ken) and Carol (Kevin) and grandchildren Chris (Sarah), Rebecca (Brian) Jeffrey, Michael, Michele, and Anthony. The family will have a private memorial service on Saturday, April 13th at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home Viera, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Health First, Melbourne, FL. 321-952-0494.
