Sherie Ann Purcell

Sherie Ann Purcell (nee Dilly), 84, of Arvada, CO, passed away on August 2, 2023. She was born on August 10, 1938, in Henning, Minnesota. Sherie led a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for various interests. She was a friendly lady who enjoyed gardening, travel, entertainment, and good food. Her warm personality and kind nature endeared her to all who knew her. Sherie achieved academic excellence throughout her life. She pursued higher education and obtained a Master's degree in Library Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1975. She also attended the University of Maryland Graduate School Education/Teaching programs in 1969-1970 and the Department of Agriculture Graduate School Tort Law in 1971. Sherie's undergraduate studies included a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1960 and a continuation of her studies at the same institution from 1964 to 1968. Throughout her career, Sherie worked as a Law Librarian and Manager for the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration Reference Library Office of The Chief Counsel. Her dedication and expertise in her field made her an invaluable asset to the organization for 35 years. Sherie is survived by her son, Anthony Sammoury, and her granddaughters, Ryhana Akhund and Nishanne Sammoury. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorna Sammoury. Sherie Ann Purcell will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished forever. Services will be held in Hasting NE, at Date and time TBD. Once a time is established, family and friends will be notified.
