Memorial

Live video will start at 2:00 PM on October 5th,2013 George was an extraordinary man, he lived well, loved well and was well loved. He is survived by his loving wife Christine and her children Julie and Eric. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen. Parents of George A, Susan C. Michael J. and Sharon L.. Grandfather of Victoria, Sean, Peter, Nickolas, Morgan, Tyler, Callie, Christian, Cecelia and his wife Chris, grandchildren Daniel, Matthew and Caitlin. He was born in Detroit, the second son of William and Eleanor. He grew up in Dearborn and attended St Barbara Catholic School. George was a Veteran of the US Army and with him and all our Veterans we pay tribute to him and all other for their military service. He was a well known and admired gas station owner and mechanic for many years. His skills were not limited to mechanical, he could fix or build just about anything, no job was to small or to big you just had to ask. His expertise was sought well after he retired and he never missed an opportunity to tell the ""computer mechanics"" what was wrong before they ever looked at the vehicle. He worked and lived with his family in Dearborn and retired to South Lyon. Snow and cold weather drew him to Florida where his brother, William and his wife Frances lived. He moved to the new community of Viera (translated into Italian means ""Faith"") to enjoy the warm weather and his favorite pastime, golf. He was well known on the golf course as lefty. On a good day he would hit the ball a mile and on a bad day he would find the woods every time. Polish polkas held a special place in his heart. For many years in the middle of the dance floor and later listing to the music of his heritage on his ipod. He loved polish food and I would drive far and wide to go to a polish restaurant usually with Frank Lover at the helm and then to keep the ""Girls"" happy a trip to the Casino and a few hand of blackjack. George found room in his heart for every one he knew and met and would tell stories about family and friends to anyone who would listen. Many of those stories include ""gas station stories"" that include his dear friend and Godfather to his son Michael, Stanley Malewski. Life is like a puzzle and we all are attempting to place the pieces following God's plan for us. George found great joy in sitting at the kitchen table sharing his puzzle with family and friends much like the life he lived and we are here to celebrate today. His wife, Christine asks, that his journey on earth now completed, be celebrated by his family and his many friends with the memories that at this time of sadness brings us comfort and healing and through the many Mass offerings. Prayers and blessing know that Our loved one is at peace in the hands of the Lord. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home Chapel in Viera, Fl. The family will greet the friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
