Ronald Brown, 89, of Boulder, CO, formerly of Attleboro, MA passed away in his home at Sunrise Senior Living on January 12, 2024. Born in Billings, MT, Ron was the son of Willard and Dorothy Brown and brother to Charlotte Shackelford, Sharren Ackerman, Barbara Bohn, and Marilyn Dickson. Ron attended Billings High School and graduated from the School of Music at Indiana State University. He also served time in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Technical Sargeant at Fort Ord in Monterey Bay, CA. Ron devoted his career to teaching music in public high schools in Wyoming, Montana, and Massachusetts, and retired from Boston Latin High School in 1993 after a 16-year tenure. Ron also frequently served as a church organist in various locations throughout the Boston area, most recently at the First Baptist Church of Attleboro, MA and the Providence Church of Christ in Providence, RI. Ron was married to the late Alice Brown for 47 years, with whom he raised a family in Brookline, MA. Upon her passing, he settled in Attleboro, MA. He was also the loving partner of Mildred Bauer for over 11 years until her passing in March 2023. Ron was an avid lover of classical music and a lifelong photographer. His hobbies included gardening, reading, and cooking for loved ones. He relished life's simple pleasures, whether it was spending time with his grandchildren, listening to a Leonard Bernstein arrangement, or observing a common loon nesting in Maine's marsh grass. Ron is survived by his daughters Deirdre Semiglia of Chelsea, MA and Anna Brown of New Hope, PA and his son Christopher Brown of Boulder, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Nichole, Kevin, Jasmine, and Kaylyn and great-grandchildren Alexander, Jonathan, Sarah, and Nicholas. A celebration of Ron's life will be held later this year.
