Rose "Roz" Weiss-Fischler

Rose "Roz" Weiss-Fischler, age 80, a 15 year resident of Las Vegas, died Sunday, April 24, 2016. Roz was born May 1, 1935 in the Bronx NY to the late David and the late Selma (Sacks) Yanofsky. Roz was a member of MENSA and had to drop out of City College of New York after her second year, to care for her mother, who had a stroke. After her mother's death, Roz had a career as a systems analyst for the New York Police Department, retiring after 23 years. She was a member of the Shomrim Society of New York and a wonderful card player, especially enjoying poker and mah jong. Roz is survived by her husband of 32 years, Emanuel Fischler; daughters, Debbie, Donna and son Billy and his wife Jessica; and grandchildren Benjamin, Luke and Ilyssa. She is predeceased by her sister Marilyn. A funeral will be held 9:45 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. Contributions in Roz's memory may be made to the Jewish National Fund.
