Norman "Nissan Raful Ben Eliazer" Ralph Shaffer
May 14th, 1924 - October 25th, 2016
Norman Ralph Shaffer, 92, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Norman was born May 14, 1924 in New York NY. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. Norman was a licensed mechanical and metallurgical engineer. One of the first engineers for the Los Angeles County Air Pollution Control Board. He served on the L.A. County Retirement Board and was President of Local 660, which he helped form. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1682 in Boulder City, ROMEO's of Henderson, and the B'nai Brith Lodge of Palm Desert CA. Norman is survived by his wife Shirley Shaffer; daughter and son in law, Robin and Chuck Kennedy, grandchildren Chucky and Lauren; and step children Lorri Jackson, David and Gina Jackson, Steve and Crystal Jackson, their children and grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1:20 pm on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. .
