Joseph Patrick “Pat” McCann, 94, passed into eternal rest on November 11, 2014 in Cocoa Beach, Florida.Pat was born on June 14, 1920 in Bronx, New York. Pat served in the Army during World War II. He returned from service to complete his education at Fordham University and joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he met his wife Ronnie. After 27 years as a Special Agent in the FBI in New York City and Miami, he retired and was appointed the Director of Pari-mutuel Wagering by then Governor Rueben Askew. He and Ronnie relocated to Cocoa Beach, where he continued to work as a private investigator. He was a Parishioner at Church of Our Saviour in Cocoa Beach and was active Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul, the Brevard County 10-13 Club, and the founder and 40 year member of the Brevard County Chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. Pat is predeceased in death by his beloved wife Ronnie, his sister Marie, his brother Walter, his grandson Matthew and his son-in-law Freddie. He is survived by his children Ronnie (Brad) Robinson, Colleen (Doug) Kettles, Mary Beth (Jon Anderson) McCann, Patrick (Jill) McCann III, John McCann, Kathleen McCann James; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2014 from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Ave. in Cocoa Beach, FL, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 10:30 A.M., at Church of Our Saviour, 5301 N. Atlantic Avenue, in Cocoa Beach.
