Helen E. Mclain

Helen "Eloise" McLain, 91, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday July 28, 2017. She was born June 6, 1926 in Henry County, the daughter of Samuel and Faye Riggs. She was a graduate of Cadiz High School and a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from the Henry County Hospital following many years of service. She enjoyed her work, the Indiana Pacers, garage sales and most importantly spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn (husband Rick) Penn of Henderson, NV and Teresa Stanley of Zionsville; her sister Nila (husband Ron) Clapp, of Middletown; her grandchildren Kelly Byrd, Harold "Bubby" Haskett, Tina Trisler, Terry Haskett, Donnie Kennedy, Chris Stanley, Bruce Stanley; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and her special friends and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Riggs and mother Faye Riggs; two daughters, Jeanne Havens and Karen Sue McLain; her brothers, Carl Riggs, Ralph Riggs, Harold Riggs, Chester "Codge" Riggs and Kenny Riggs and her longtime companion, Lee Whittle. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the service begins at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
