Earl Jensen
June 28th, 1931 - August 20th, 2017
Earl Thorwald Jensen at the age of 86 years old passed away in his daughter's home under hospice care in Henderson NV on Sunday August 20th, 2017. He was born on June 28th, 1931 in Harlan Iowa. He was on the high school wrestling team and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs Iowa. He was married in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Charlene Louise Mock from December 29th, 1950 until her death on February 14th, 1989. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 1951 where he attended USAF Tech School from Dec 1951 to July 1952. During his time in service he received the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in September of 1955. He and Charlene had 4 children. Terry Lee Jensen was born in California on November 21th, 1952, Steven King Jensen was born in Texas on May 5th, 1954, Diana Louise Jensen was born in Iowa on July 16th, 1956 and Brian Scott Jensen was born in California on March 31, 1959. They moved to Henderson NV in 1961. He worked for EG&G Energy Measurements where they tested nuclear bombs at the Nevada Test Site. He remarried on April 17th, 1990 In Honolulu, Hawaii to Denise Katherine Yates until her death March 16th, 2009. He retired from EG&G in 1993. He enjoyed his retirement by traveling, hunting, cruising and RVing. He enjoyed time spent at home with his family and his good friend Karen Gray. He is survived by three of his children, Steven (Dayle) Jensen, Diana (James) Rewerts and Brian (Susan) Jensen. He has 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. His four stepchildren, Lance (Brenda) Yates, Beth Rose, Jason (Nikki) Yates and Amy (Frank) Jones and their 8 children. His sister Grace McNabb, brother Norman (MaryJo) Jensen, sister-in-law Ruth Jensen and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wives Charlene and Denise, his son Terry, his parents, Jens Martinius Jensen and Helen Rubertha Christensen Jensen and stepmother Lillian Pash Jensen. His two brothers, Wayne (Hazel) and Bruce and two sisters, Mildred (John) Blaine, June (Arnold) Hanna and brother-in-law Virgil McNabb. Visitation at Kraft Sussman funeral home 3975 S.
