Alice Longmore
August 23rd, 1934 - January 3rd, 2015
Alice Louise Kelson Longmore , 80, formerly of Westbrook, Maine and Ft. Sill, OK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at home in Melbourne, Florida with her loving family by her side. She is survived by Myron, her husband of 56 years and their children Scott, Terry and Bruce; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Roland A. Kelson and her parents Arthur and Alice Kelson. After graduating from the University of Maine in 1956, she was commissioned as a US Army officer, rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. When her husband was deployed overseas as a Colonel in the US Army, the family travelled the world together, living on base in places like Ethiopia & Korea. Alice earned her Masters Degree at the University of Southern California and for 41 years enjoyed a successful career as a licensed dietician and also a dietary consultant to several area healthcare facilities. During retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, until purchasing a cottage on the shores of Sebago Lake, Maine, near her brother, Roly. Many happy summers were spent entertaining countless friends and relatives, either out on the boat or indulging in native corn, clams and lobsters. Click on Link below to watch Montage video.
