Blanche V. ""Ginny"" Lutz Cocoa Beach Blanche Virginia (Sandmann) Lutz died Sunday, March 22 at Hospice of Health First, Cape Canaveral Hospital. Ginny was born June 29, 1916 in Baltimore MD. Ginny was the second eldest of five daughters, two of whom survive her: Ethel Wich of Groveland FL and Falista Ruhl of Lecanto FL. Ginny is survived by daughters, Barbara Freeman of Cocoa Beach and Rosalie Walker of Colorado Springs CO, and stepdaughter Shirley Moreno of Branson MO. Ginny has five grandchildren: Rhondda Walker-Rogers, Jonathan Walker, and Charles, John, and Steve Moreno. She has five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ginny and her husband, Charles A. ""Alton"" Lutz, moved from the Baltimore area to Merritt Island in 1956 when Alton relocated to PAFB. Ginny adored Alton and he adored her. He wrote hundreds of poems, declaring his undying love for her. Sadly, Ginny has been a widow for 48 years. Ginny loved her home, and gardening was her passion. Her plants and shrubs were spectacular. She was also very proud that her father's pet name for her was ""Mike."" As a little girl she helped him repair his truck, deliver ice, and other son type things. For a number of years Ginny worked as a sales lady in various shops in Cocoa and Cocoa Beach. Prior to retiring she worked at Montgomery Ward in Cocoa and consistently won top sales awards. She will be sorely missed by many friends and family. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses, and CNA's at Courtenay Springs Long Term Care facility. We also wish to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for her at Cape Canaveral Hospital and Hospice of Health First. Services will be held at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, on Monday March 30, 2015. Visitation will begin at 3:30 pm with services following at 4:00 pm. You may sign Ginny's guestbook at www.beckman-williamson.com.
