Barbara Tharpe

Barbara Ann Tharpe, age 73 of Merritt Island, FL, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Wuesthoff Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born August 31, 1942 in Paterson, NJ. Barbara was predeceased by her father, John Stanley. Reinholdt, Sr., mother, Ann Shepard, and brother John S., Jr. Barbara was a graduate of Cocoa High School Class of ’59 and Blanton Business College (magna cum laude) in Asheville, NC. She loved playing tennis and spending time with her family and friends. She was an accomplished real estate developer and always helped those in need. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Roy C. Tharpe of Merritt Island; her sons Roy Jr. (Tracy) of Merritt Island and Todd Michael of Cocoa Beach and her daughter Jennifer Lynn Tharpe (Matt Longmire) of Cape Canaveral; her sister, Kathleen (Bob) Cessac of Fayette MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren Troy and John Tharpe; and Steven Longmire. In addition, Barbara is survived by 10 nieces and 11 nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 North Courtenay Parkway Merritt Island, FL 32953 with a reception immediately following the service at the Cocoa Beach Hilton, 1550 N Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931.
