Claire Brown

Claire Elizabeth "Betty" Brown passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on October 8, 2015 at the age of 88. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Robert O. Brown; daughters Claire Burton (Jak), Barbara Gallagher (Robert), and Nancy Marie Brown (Charles Fergus); grandchildren R. Patrick Gallagher (Caitlin), Kyle Gallagher, and William Fergus (Melanie Saunders); great-granddaughter Nora Claire Gallagher; and many other dear relatives and friends. Deceased loved ones include her parents; brothers; granddaughter Claire Aldona Gallagher; and extended family members. Betty grew up in New Jersey and she and Bob raised their family in suburban Philadelphia before moving to Cocoa Beach in 1983. She was a teacher, homemaker, loving wife and mother, active in Riverside Presbyterian Church, the Cocoa Beach Woman's Club, the FCE, and other community organizations. She had a kind, patient and gentle manner, always thinking of others first and helping wherever she could. We will greatly miss her loving heart, happy smile, optimistic attitude and quiet faith. A memorial service will take place at the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11 o'clock AM.
