John Henry Booker

John Henry Booker, age 78, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Booker was born on September 19, 1939 in Rand, West Virginia. He is the son of the late Robert Lee and the late Rosa Lee (Higginbotham) Booker. His formal education was received in Kanawha County, West Virginia where he graduated in 1959 from DuPont High School After finishing high school he went right to WV State Barbering School and worked as Barber for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marjorie A (Donaway) Booker, his daughter Mia C. Booker Kerrick, of Brandywine, MD & his son Joseph J. Booker (Billie) of Las Vegas, NV; His brother; Robert Booker of Rand WV; Sister -in-law Betty Booker of Evansville, IN; & his sisters: Lorene Craig of Lancaster, TX; Antoinette Hairston of Gary, IN; Bonnie Wilson and Romona Collier both of Chicago, IL: Sandra "Kay" (Robert) Wesley of Dunbar, WV, his grandchildren Aubrie Wilson (Brandon) Wingett Run, Ohio, Allison Hoover Parkersburg, WV, Joshua Lewis, Ogden, Utah, Zachary and Tyler Booker, West Palm Beach, FL, Elijah Kerrick, Brandywine, MD, William Lessner, Las Vegas, NV, John Solomon Lessner, Las Vegas, NV, Rachel Lessner, Parkersburg WV, Alexandria Kaufman (Zachary) Vienna, WV & 10 great grandchildren. John Henry Booker was preceded in death by; Father and Mother Robert and Rosa Lee Booker, Sister LouAnna Jones, Sister-in-law Dorothy Booker, brothers; Emmett and Samuel Booker and brother-in-law's Toussaint Jones Sr., Ralph Craig, Willie Hairston and Thomas Wilson. John always had a love for all animals specially his four legged grands Henry and Roxanne. John loved gardening, planting flowers in the back yard was one of his favorite past times. A visitation with family is scheduled for Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and July 21, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00am with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am, both at Zion Baptist Church 8th Street Parkersburg, WV 26101. Interment of Mr. Booker will take place immediately after his Memorial Service at Sunset Memorial Park, 4301 MacCorkle Avenue SW, South Charleston, WV 25309.
