Charles Edward Blackwell
October 18th, 1942 - July 19th, 2023
Charles Edward Blackwell, age 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 19, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a long battle with Cancer. Charles was born on October 18, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Paul Blackwell and Hazel (Brasher) Blackwell. Preceding Charles in death are both his parents Paul Blackwell and Hazel Blackwell. Those left behind to honor Charles' memory are loving wife Barbara Blackwell, daughter Brooke Smith and brother John Blackwell. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marines from 1964 to 1967, fighting overseas in the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged. Charles will be cremated and his ashes will be above ground at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. An above ground military service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in approximately one year. The family will send out details to those interested in attending Charles' service once a date has been confirmed.
