Kathleen Barbara Leydon

Kathleen Barbara Leydon, age 68, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017. Kathy was born in Jersey City to Edward and Mary Una Doyle from County Wexford, Ireland and grew up in Harrison, New Jersey. She attended several colleges working on her nursing degree in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, due to her husband Greg’s frequent employment re-locations. Kathy received her Associates degree in Nursing from Brevard Community College graduating in 1995 with honors. She had a successful and fulfilling career as a Senior Clinical Research Associate with Organon/ Akzo Nobel, Schering-Plough & Merck Research Labs retiring in April 2012. Kathy was blessed with an adventurous spirit, keen intelligence, wonderful smile and delightful sense of humor. She was a devoted wife, and also loved animals especially dogs raising purebred puppies as well as rescuing dogs from shelters. She loved to read medical mystery novels, and enjoyed fine dining as well as attending local community playhouses. Kathy and her husband Greg enjoyed traveling. In 1986 Kathy and Greg took a 13,000 mile motor home trip throughout the US and Canada. They also took trips to many countries, visiting Australia, Germany, Ireland, France, Panama, Belize, Canada, Mexico and Singapore. Kathy also loved cruise ship vacations and enjoyed over 20 cruises. Kathy is survived by her husband Greg of 40 years, three step-sons Michael Leydon, Matthew Leydon, and Scott Osborne, six step grandchildren and a step great granddaughter, sister Maureen Doyle Glassman, nephew Brian Glassman, great niece Coraline Glassman and many cousins in the US and Ireland. Services will be on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera, FL 32955. in lieu of flowers, consider donating to your local food bank in memory of Kathy"
