Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes & Crematory - Cocoa Beach
Naomi "Penny" Dale
August 30th, 1924 - January 3rd, 2018
Naomi Dale died peacefully the evening of January 3rd, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Presbyterian Church at 11 am, Saturday, January 13th. She is survived by three children, John, James, and Constance Dale & by three grandchildren, Avery, Hollis, and Allison Dale. Naomi was born on August 30, 1924 in the small southern Kansas farming town of Cedar Vale. After graduating high school, she attended Baker University for two years, but left during the early years on WWII to work in a factory in St. Louis, MO. It was there that she met her husband of 60 years, John Thomas Dale. She spent the first part of her adult life in Missouri, where she gave birth to four children. The family moved to Cocoa Beach in 1960 when her husband, an aerospace engineer, began to work on the Mercury and Gemini manned space missions. She completed her university degree in 1975 at what is now the University of Central Florida, and began working for Brevard County as a Social Worker. After their retirements they remained in Cocoa Beach, and she became a frequent international traveler, active in genealogy and the charitable sorority, PEO. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Riverside Presbyterian church choir of Cocoa Beach, where she was the soprano soloist for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Francis hospice. You may sign Penny’s guestbook at www.beckman-williamson.com
