Frances Lois Devine Ludwig Frances Lois Devine Ludwig, a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and reluctant traveler departed on her last trip to be with the Lord Jesus on March 16, 2018 from Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cape Canaveral, FL. Lois, the daughter of George Washington and Sarah Ann Lona (Garner) Devine, was born November 26, 1933 on the family farm in Loxley, AL. In 1952, she graduated from Robertsdale High School, Robertsdale, AL; then attended the University of Alabama, where she majored in Accounting. Lois met her husband, Lawrence Landis Ludwig Sr., in 1954 and the two were united in holy matrimony on January 31, 1955 at Loxley United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with six children, five sons and one daughter. She was a loving, fun, and faithful wife for over 50 years and a generous, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening and sharing the outdoors with her husband and children. Lois was a world traveler and lived abroad in Japan, Israel, and Belgium. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Merritt Island, FL for close to 40 years. As a result of her generous spirit, pleasant personality and servants heart, she was loved by everyone. Lois’ Christian walk through this life instilled in her children a love of God and commitment to family and friends. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her husband Larry Ludwig, brothers, Elvin Devine, Earl Devine and Vernon Devine, and grandson Jonathan Ludwig preceded her on the trip to Heaven. Lois’ beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children and their spouses, Lawrence (Virgina), Michael (Connie), Gerald (Sandra), Roger, Greg (Sue), and Kathie Ludwig Murr (Jerry); sister Eunice and husband Billy David Chavous; and brother-in-laws-, Gerald Edward Ludwig (Cindy) and Cary Allen Ludwig (Margi). She will also be lovingly remembered by her eleven grandchildren: Tracy Ludwig-Matti, Lawrence Ludwig III., Laurel Ludwig, Paul Ludwig, Jr., Nathaniel Ludwig, Melissa Ludwig, Taryn Ludwig, Joshua Ludwig, Crystal Murr, Travis Murr, and Michael Murr; three step-grandchildren: Dirk Wilson, Carrie (Euston) Adams, and Chris Euston; seven great-grandchildren: Aaron Ludwig, Lawrence Ludwig IV, Tristan Matti, Noah Matti, Evelyn Ludwig, Kaitlin Ludwig, and Lillian Ludwig-McKillip; seven step-great-grandchildren: Christian Wilson, Ariel Wilson, Dominique Wilson, Emily Philpot, Shannon Euston, Jacob Euston, Jack Philpot; and one step-great-great grandson, Donavan Wilson. Memorials may be made to either the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island “First Initiative” Merritt Island, FL or to the Alzheimers Association via mail at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 or online at Alz.org. Visitation and the Funeral service will be held Monday, March 19, 2018, at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Dr., Melbourne, FL. The Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Mark Lewis will officiate the service. Interment to follow at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Cocoa, FL.
