Truman Dale Bartels (79), a resident of Melbourne Florida passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday June 28th 2018. For 54 years he was the beloved husband and friend of the late Elaine Claire Bartels who also passed away on April 17, 2018. Born in Sioux Center Iowa On May 5, 1939 to the late Henry Bartels and Hermina DeBoer. After growing up in Sioux Center Iowa, he stretched his legs and joined the Navy to see the world. After settling down in Westford Ma he worked nights to get his BS degree from NorthEastern University and worked in Customer Service at Gen Rad and retired as Customer Service Director 3Com. He spent as much time as he could with his family on Lake Winnipesaukee and golfing with his friends. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife in Melbourne Florida and traveling on numerous cruises and worldwide destinations. He is survived by his two children Kristen (Bartels) Stone of Warwick RI and Ryan Bartels and his fiancé Stacey Bruce and their daughter Emma Bruce of Westford Ma, his older Sister Rose Kooima and his younger sister Ruth Ann Kehrli. And along with numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held at Advent Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Advent Lutheran Church.
