Laura "Leigh" Johnson 58 of Merritt Island Florida died December 23, 2018. She was born in Chicago Illinois, graduated from Astronaut High School. Soon after joined the US Navy where she served our country as a flight Engineer for 21 years. She was stationed in Sigonella Sicily where she met her husband Geatano Caruso. At the end of her USN career she and Geatano had 2 beloved children Tony Caruso 21 and Amanda Johnson 20. Growing up she was in the Girl Scouts, Rode like the wind on her horse Holy Smoke, and competed in swimming. Our father died in 2010. Serviving beloved motherJudith (Johnson) Briggs. Her loving sisters Tammy Johnson Wright, Linda Johnson Harper, Susan Johnson Burch and her brother Stephen Johnson. Brother and sister in law Robert Harper and Raquel Johnson. 3 Neices 4 Nephews 5 great nephews and 2 great neices. Her Uncle Ren Aunt Patty and Cousins Lana and Robert John and many more. Along with many friends around the world.Laura loved to travel taking her beloved children to as many places as possible Most Thanksgivings a great Road Trip to Delaware to be with her sister Tammy. She was also active in Astronaut Class Reunions. I will miss her the rest of my life.
