Dorothy “Dotty” Mae Barna Melbourne, FL Dorothy "Dotty" Mae Barna 83, formerly of Point Lookout, New York passed away peacefully on Monday September 9, 2019. She is survived by her children Jeanette Quesada and her husband Joe, Melbourne, Florida; Peter Barna and his wife Julie, Shenorock, New York; Sister Patricia Romanoff, Fort Myers, Florida; and Grandchildren Matthew, Amelia, James, and Julian. She was a loving Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews. Dotty was predeceased by husband Peter, Sister Mary Ellen Creede and parents Joseph and Mary Hardenburgh. Dotty was a long-time resident of a beautiful little beach town, Point Lookout, New York since she was 9 years old. In June of 1954 she graduated from Long Beach High School, Long Beach, New York. For 13 years she worked at Central Federal Savings Bank. Dotty married Peter “Pete” Barna of Simpson, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1962. For 45 years, Dotty was a successful Real Estate Broker and owned and operated Joseph F. Hardenburgh Real Estate in Point Lookout, New York. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. Her wonderful spirit, magnetic smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went, and her customers loved her as well. Dotty was a devote Catholic and her faith kept her strong. She was an active member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Point Lookout since she was a little girl. Dotty prayed the Rosary or a Novena for those going through difficult times in their lives and was there for those in need. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her at House of Light Senior Living, Palm Bay, Florida. They are true angels from God. Contributions in her memory may be made to Vitas Hospice of Melbourne. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Viera, Florida on Friday September 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will immediately follow the ceremony at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
