Elizabeth Ann Evans
December 29th, 1955 - October 11th, 2019
Elizabeth Ann Evans passed away suddenly on Friday, October 11, following a brief illness. She was 63. Liz was born in Morristown, NJ on December 29, 1955. An honors graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen, MA, she went on to study Art at the Rhode Island School of Design and received a BS in Animal Sciences from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the late 70s. Liz retired in 2012 from a career in the Postal Service in Santa Fe, NM, and Nashua, NH. She then relocated to Melbourne, Florida, where she lived with her elderly mother as a primary caregiver. Liz was a beloved member of a large and loving family. She especially loved animals, enjoyed all things nature, and was quite knowledgeable about animal species and the ecosystem. She was also a talented artist and loved photography. Liz was predeceased by her father, James B. Evans Jr., and sisters, Catherine LeClaire and Carolyn Evans. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth S. Evans of Melbourne FL; a sister, Nancy, and husband John Machuzak of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Dr. James B. Evans III, and wife, Mary, of Viera, FL; Daniel Evans and wife, Maryann, of Rockledge, FL; Martin Evans of West Palm Bay, FL; William Evans and wife, Janie, of Coleman, MI; and brother-in-law, Rene LeClaire of Los Alamos, NM, as well as many nieces and nephews. Liz was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Viera. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there on Friday, October 18, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours. A private Burial will be at Church of Our Savior’s Memorial Garden in Cocoa Beach, FL. Liz will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
