Richard Lee Kampstra, 67, of Melbourne, Fl, passed away at his residence on April 5, 2020. Rick was born on July 9, 1952 to Richard and Maxine (Lytle) Kampstra of Dalton, Wisconsin. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years as a member of the Radar Special Maintenance Team and retired as a SMSgt in 1998. After serving his country, he worked for USAF contractors until 2010. On September 7, 1996, he married Laura Ansin in Boston, MA. They lived in O'Fallon, IL while Rick continued to work. After retirement, they moved to Florida and enjoyed frequent trips to the beach with their dogs Carly and Mali. Rick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura, and their daughter Jordyn of Melbourne, FL, his son Michael Kampstra and his wife Michelle of San Antonio, TX, and his daughter Michelle Ratzlaff and her husband Brent, of Meno, OK. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Emma, Ethan and Sadie Ratzlaff of Meno, OK and Kate and Maddie Kampstra of San Antonio,TX as well as his mother Maxine Kampstra of Dalton, WI, his brother Dale Kampstra of Dalton, WI, his sister Sandy Sells and Larry Cone of Paris, TX, and brother-in-law, JT Hahn of Burkburnett, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Kampstra and his sister, Susan Hahn.
