James Edwin Utt

James Edwin Utt, a resident of Northglenn, Colorado passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s. He was born December 30, 1937 in Independence, Missouri, the son of the late Loren and Eula Utt. James attended high school in Independence, Missouri and then in 1955 went on to join the Marines and served four years. He had a successful HVAC Engineering career that spanned more than forty years. Above all, Jim was known for his kindness, sense of humor, integrity, and overall decency, treating everyone he encountered with warmth and respect. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by family and friends and by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Jim was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his father Loren, mother Eula, and brother Michael. He is survived by his wife Trudy of 51 years. Jim leaves two daughters, Heidi Utt of Thornton, CO and Mary Utt of Northglenn, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. With travel and gathering concerns still high, the family will look forward to a celebration of life for Jim with family and friends in Missouri when such a gathering is permissible.
