John Worth, 84, died September 2, 2021, peacefully at home in Cocoa Beach, FL. John was born April 15, 1937 in Queens NY to Walter and Edna Worth. His father was in the United States Army Core of Engineers and his mother worked in the mortgage industry. He graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. John was a Mounted Police officer and Homicide Detective in Manhattan, NY. He met his wife Ann while he was guarding a prisoner in Bellevue hospital where she worked as a nurse. They married and moved to Staten Island, NY. John and Ann are survived by their two children, Kerry Worth-Peterson (Adam Peterson), Kevin Worth (Vinaya Garde-Worth), four grandchildren, Olivia Peterson, John Peterson, Keegan Worth, Ahren Worth and his sister, Muriel Broderick. John was an active member of the Brevard County 10-13 Club, a national organization of the retired and active New York City Police Officers. He enjoyed Florida condo living, going to the gym, church on Sundays and deeply loved all the dogs in his life. John contributed to the ASPCA and splurged on a Tommy Bahama shirt or two. Due to COVID, a memorial service will take place in spring/summer/2022 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida. Donations in his honor may be sent to the ASPCA: www.aspca.org
