All Veterans Funeral & Cremation - Denver
Cheryl Lee Caplin
July 27th, 1945 - June 26th, 2021
Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother Cheryl L. (Lybeck) Caplin, 75 of Denver, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at her home with her Pomeranian, Ivy beside her. She was the beloved wife of Lance R. Caplin, with whom she would have celebrated her 49th wedding anniversary on January 16, 2022. Cheryl was born in Fargo, ND on July 27, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Earl and Amy Lybeck. She was raised in Fargo and attended flight school moving to California. An earthquake caused her to move to Colorado giving up a flying career. For a time, she handled billing for a medical clinic. Lance and Cheryl met at a dance where they won a bottle of champagne doing a twist contest. Shortly thereafter Cheryl and Lance were married. Cheryl went back to school earning an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and became Preschool Director certified while raising two children. She was a preschool teacher at Temple Sinai Preschool. She taught with a genuine passion delighting in the growth of her students, her grandchildren and anyone else she decided could use an earful of wisdom. After 19 years of teaching, Cheryl made a dramatic career change and became a sales agent for promotional products. She joined Halo Branded Solutions and has been one of their top sales reps for many years. Her clients trusted her as a friend that always gave sound advice. While not a trained psychologist, Cheryl often served as a confident and counsellor to friends going through life’s traumas. She was always there to lend an ear and support, day or night. Cheryl was a fantastic cook and one of the things on her “to do list” was to be chef on a cattle drive. She was happier cooking for 25 than for two and enjoyed entertaining. An avid sports fan, she loved the Broncos and Rockies and was an enthusiastic and excitable supporter that would pummel you if you were sitting next to her when her favorite team scored. With a love of history, she was a current events and news fanatic always knowledgeable of world events. Cheryl would bring a smile or laughter to everyone’s face. She devoted herself to providing a loving home to her daughter, Jacqueline and her son, Eric. Literally in contact with family every day. Her life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. In addition to her husband, Lance Caplin of Denver she is survived by her daughter Jacqueline and her husband, Wes of Peyton, Colorado, her son, Eric P. Caplin and his wife Erin of Castlerock, Colorado; Her two grandchildren are Emma and Ethen (EJ) Caplin. Her brother Tom and wife Robin of Denver, Colorado, her brother David Lybeck of Fargo, North Dakota.
