Early on Saturday morning February 25, 2023, Harold Edward Meyer, at the age of 87, was ushered into heaven where he was welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Harold was born December 3, 1935, in Muskego, Wisconsin. Harold grew up in the small farming community of Muskego before moving to Cudahy, Wisconsin where he graduated from high school. After high school he entered barber school and served in the Army for a couple of years, where he had the opportunity to serve in Korea. After an honorable discharge from the military, he pursued his barbering career. He continued in barbering for most of his working life until his later years when he left barbering and worked for a couple of companies in their warehouses as a shipping clerk. It was during his years barbering in the early 1970’s when he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior, through a pastor who was getting a haircut. Although he received Christ in the early 1970’s it was not until the mid-1980’s when he really started to grow in his spiritual life. In the years that followed he was involved in several different Bible Studies and served as an usher for many years in the churches he was attending. He also was exposed to the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) through his son and was very supportive and proud of his son’s involvement in that ministry. In 2019 it became apparent he was no longer able to safely live on his own anymore, so he left Wisconsin, where he had lived his entire life, and moved in with his son and daughter in law in Florida. He lived with them 3 years before going into the hospital on December 28, 2022, followed by a rehab facility on January 10, 2023. He remained there until he was moved to a hospice center on February 24, 2023, where he comfortably spent the last few hours of his life. He will be buried at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Florida on March 10, 2023. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Meyer and daughter in law Becky. He is also survived by two nieces: Kathleen Wallace-Kost and Lou Ann Uttke, and a nephew Gary Wallace, along with other family and friends in Wisconsin.
