Katie Ann (Hogan) Thompson

Katie Ann (Hogan) Thompson passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her home in Merritt Island, Florida at the age of 47 years old. Born to Steve and Debbie Hogan on December 17, 1976 in Peoria, Illinois. Katie was an incredible person and will be remembered as a bright, kindhearted individual who made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished forever by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Even though Katie was in constant pain she never complained. Katie graduated from Monticello High School and was part of the Monticello Marching Band Color Guard. The band was Illinois State Champions for three years. Katie attended Parkland College and worked many years as Manager at Kaiser Abstract Company. Katie is survived by her loving parents, Steve and Debbie Hogan of Rockledge, Florida and her two sons, Zachary Thompson (Emily Clark) of Champaign, Illinois and Mitchell Thompson of Tuscola, Illinois, brother Todd Hogan of Monticello and sister Emily Hogan of Charleston. Also surviving is her fiancé Mark Decola of Merritt Island, FL One of her greatest joys were her two sons and fiancé Mark Decola. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Vic and Marty Hogan, and Linden and Joanne Robinson, nephew, Ryan Hogan and uncles, Tim Hogan and Rick Leischner. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 25 at 11:00 am at St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church at 5655 Stadium Parkway, Viera, Florida There will be a repast after the service. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring in Monticello, Illinois.
