Charles "Chuck" Mazon
May 31st, 1951 - May 6th, 2024
Charles Elbert “Chuck” “Chuckie” “Papa” Mazon passed away on May 6, 2024 at the age of 72 in Rockledge, Florida. He was born on May 31, 1951.He was a man of deep faith and knew that when he was called home, he would be with Jesus Christ, his Savior, free of illness and worry. Chuck is survived by the love of his life and soulmate for over 42 years, his devoted wife Cynthia “Cindy” Mazon, daughters Celestria Meyers-Douglas (Rob), Melissa McRae (Billy), Marisa Croston, sons Joshua Mazon (Stacy), Charles (Chaz) Mazon, brother, Dennis Mazon (Ann), sister, Verna Jellison, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with a 6th on the way. He also leaves behind his “udder” mother, Patricia Carter, brother-in-law, David Frederick, sisters-in-law, Teresa Shumate and Phoenix Case along with many nieces and nephews. He grew up in Canton, Ohio and attended Timken Vocational High School, where he was ranked 17th in the state from their entrance exam. His family then moved to Merritt Island where he received his diploma from Merritt Island High School in 1969. He was a jack of all trades, having worked in construction doing framing, roofing, and later his own business doing soffit & fascia on new construction. When the housing market went south, he worked for Fab Tech, EMF, Inc, & SeaDek where he was a machine repair technician & facility maintenance technician. He never got the chance to fully enjoy retirement. Chuck was a loving and devoted family man and was proud of all of his children. He never missed a dance recital, chorus recital, baseball game, soccer game, or wrestling match. He was a Rockledge Little League Coach for many years & even coached soccer one year when there was no one else to do it. Chuck & Cindy were Interim youth leaders at Rockledge Methodist Church & did many camping trips & youth outings. Visiting the Peace River & Maggie Valley were a couple of his favorites. He was a member of RUMC for many years. Anything that his children were involved in, he wanted to be a part of. In later years, it was the same with his grandchildren. He taught his sons the value of working with their hands & they have both incorporated this in their careers. Chuck was an avid bowler for years. He was President of the Florida Space Coast Bowling Association in 2016-2017. He served on the FSCBA Board for over 10 years & was inducted in to the FSCBA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 2017. He loved the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Football as well as Cleveland Guardians Baseball (even though in his heart they would always be Indians). Chuck always had a joke to tell & a joke shirt to match. He loved Christmas and every year his massive village scene would grow. He leaves behind a family that is heart broken because they loved him so dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 3-6 pm at Dick Blake Park 398 Gus Hipp Blvd, Rockledge, Fl 32955 Donations may be made to the family.
