Carolyn "Jo" Sanders
January 1st, 1942 - June 18th, 2018
Carolyn “Jo” Sanders 76, of Yuma,VA went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family. Carolyn retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1997 after 35 years. She was a dedicated member of Vicar’s Chapel Baptist Church. Carolyn was also a passionate volunteer at Kingsport Hematology and Oncology. Her greatest blessing was God which was demonstrated in her testimony, family, and multitude of friends. Carolyn greatest joy derived from the love of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vester Carroll Gilley and Alice Trent Gilley. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jack Sanders; daughter, Christie Blakely and husband Rocky; son, Scott Sanders and wife Tonya; grandchildren, Santana Mullins (Craig), Tristan Sanders (Taylor), Gage Blakely, Channa Sanders, and Chance Blakely; great-grandchildren, Christian and Cainan Sanders, Blakely and Adalyn Mullins; sister, Barbara Rotenberry; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Music will be provided by the Adkins family. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Holston View Cemetery with Tristan Sanders, Gage Blakely, Chance Blakely, Craig Mullins, Aaron Tate, and Todd Bailey serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15am to go in procession. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to KHO at 4485 West Stone Dr. Kingsport, TN 37660, Vicar’s Chapel Baptist Church at 12421 Stanley Valley Rd.
