Edna Ruth Perkins 92, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Nickelsville, VA to the late Lilburn and Nellie Jennings. Edna was a devoted member of Homeland Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Perkins; brothers, Gale V. Jennings and Kyle Jennings and wife Jerry; infant brother, Oferrill Jennings; son-in-law, James Propst Jr. . Survivors include her daughters, Donna Propst, Regina Payne and husband John, and Beverly Perkins; son, Edward Perkins; grandchildren, Jason St. John, Stuart Propst, Crystal Payne, Tanya Hicks, and Chelsea Fauver; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Wolfe; brother, Berl Jennings and wife Shirley; special friend, Evelyn Thomas; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Doug Trent and Pastor J.W. Depew officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 am to go in procession. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choosing in her honor.
