Hugh K. Sherron, 84, of Ft. Blackmore, VA entered into rest on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Hugh was born in Scott County, VA in 1937 to Charles and Hettie (Murphy) Sherron who preceded him in death as did 10 siblings. Hugh joined the US Army at the age of 15 and served with the Special Forces Green Beret. He spent 22 years in the Army with 5 tours of duty to Vietnam where he received numerous decorations. After his retirement from the Army he worked for Kenosha County Sheriff Department retiring in 1988. Hugh was Past Master of Southport Lodge 343 and a member of Unity Lodge. He was a member of Tripoli Shrine Temple in Milwaukee and Jericho Shrine Temple in Kingsport, TN. Hugh is survived by 4 children, Keith, Carol, Kevin and Kristie Sherron; 8 grandchildren, Kyle, Kristin, Sean, Keith, Meghan, Michael Sherron, Ryan and Ricky Romano, Connor Pursell; and 6 great-grandchildren. No formal services are planned at this time. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA is serving the Sherron family.
