Donna Carol Austin

II Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the Faith:” Donna Carol (Jenkins) Austin, 53, of Gate City, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born on June 8, 1970 in Kingsport, TN. Donna was preceded in death by her husband William Jeffery “Jeff” Austin; father, Herbert N. “Norm” Jenkins; paternal grandparents, R.C. and Elsie Jenkins; maternal grandparents, Rhoda and Big Bill Hensley. Donna was a born again Christian. Her son was the light of her life, family was her everything and she would do anything for them. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, Aunt and friend. Surviving are her son, Jacob Austin; mother, Shirley Jenkins; siblings, Billy (Rhonda) Jenkins, Lynn (Vickie) Jenkins, and Rhonda Gail (Dale) Kendrick; nieces and nephews, Julie Jenkins, Miranda Jenkins (Greg Benge), Amanda (Tyler) Fletcher, James Jenkins (Chandra Winegar), Parker Keller and Chris (Paige) Austin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tammy and Tim Darnell; brother-in-law, Greg Austin; several aunts, uncles and cousins; best friends, Donna Seabolt and Carolyn Crabtree. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Kyle Falin officiating. Music will be provided by Donna and Craig Seabolt and Tim Thacker. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 9, 2023 at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 1:15 pm at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
