Mary Jane Duncan

Retired Secretary-Treasurer of Terminal Networks, Inc., Silver Spring, MD, died November 8 at age 86, of kidney cancer. She resided at Asbury Methodist Village having moved from Rockville, MD. She co-founded Terminal Networks, Inc., a data communications sales organization in Silver Spring with her husband, David O. Duncan, in 1972 and retired in 1992. Mrs. Duncan was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Gary, IN, where she graduated from Horace Mann High School. She graduated cum laude from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a BA majoring in Speech and an English minor. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and to Theta Alpha Phi, drama honorary. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She also worked in public relations at US Steel in Chicago and reared her family in California. Survivors are: David O. Duncan, husband of 61 years of Gaithersburg, MD; children Carol Duncan Jacobsen (Lee) of Lancaster, VA, Robert Mark Duncan (Pam) of Ballston Lake, NY, and Joan Duncan Poor (Chas) of Takoma Park MD; grandchildren Claire Duncan, Scott Duncan, Nicole Poor, and Lauren Poor. The memorial service will be held on December 5, at 11 am, at Colesville Presbyterian Church, (12800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904), where she has been a member since 1966. The family requests in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are made to the Memorial Fund of the Colesville Presbyterian Church, Montgomery Hospice (1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850), or to a favorite charity.
