Robert Stephen Fast, 66, of Parker Colorado passed away July 26, 2020 in the home. Funeral services will be held at Ft Logan Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave. Denver, Colorado 80236, on August 18th. Robert was the youngest of six children born to Ezra and Beulah Fast in Wichita, Kansas. He attended public schools in Wichita, received his Bachelors and Master’s degrees respectively in Business Management and Human Resources Development from Colorado State University and the University of Phoenix. Robert joined the Army in March 1977 serving in the 82nd Airborne as a Medic Specialist until 1980 receiving the Army Commendation Medal. Robert was active in the Rugby community for many years, touring the UK eventually playing in every position. He was a member of the Queen City Rugby Club and the Gentlemen of Aspen as well as coaching the Denver University Rugby Club. In 1985-1995 he owned two small businesses Fast Aid Services and First Aid & Safety Training which afforded him the opportunity to teach CPR to over 10,000 clients. During this time he served on the board of the Colorado CPR Association and the American Heart Association. In 1995 Robert closed this business and became a Human Resources / Safety Manager in the Construction Industry from 1995-2010. He was an OSHA instructor developing the “Home Safe Program” VPP Partnership with OSHA presenting it in Washington DC, an active member of the Colorado Contractors Association, Adams County Workforce Development, The Homebuilders Association of Denver. After his retirement from Construction he enjoyed serving on the boards of non-profit charities such as : “The American Experiment” a group that educated the community about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Founders’ philosophies that have guided our nation and “Perfect Peace Project” which today regularly reaches out to feed and clothe the homeless in Denver. In recent years, Robert attended Parker Crossroads Community Church, Bible studies and held a Life Group in his home. In 2011 he was diagnosed at the VA with a rare neuromuscular disease called IBM. This disease took over his limbs but did not crush his faith in Jesus Christ. Robert was well known to this local area and a special friend to the Cottonwood King Soopers traveling there daily on the Cherry Creek Trail in his power chair. He leaves his best friend and wife of almost 20 years, Nancy, two children Alan and Lauren both of Denver, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandsons Tate and Jacob, four siblings: John Fast of Dallas Texas, Linda Snow of Del City Oklahoma, David Fast of Lake City Texas, Nancy Golden of Huntington Beach California. His sister, Sandy Moore, of Moore Oklahoma predeceased him 2007. His hope was that his memorial service would be a simple celebration of his graduation to his eternal home, that his loved ones, and friends would come to know the Savior, Jesus, who had carried him through his life.
