Brenda Joyce Johnson, 74, died 8th September 2016 in Silver Spring MD. The viewing is at 10:30 am and the funeral services will be at 11:00 am at Takoma Park SDA Church, 6951 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912. Brenda Joyce Johnson was born in Glen Rogers West Virginia to Johnnie E. Johnson and Virginia Elizabeth Johnson on August 31, 1942. She graduated from Queensboro Community College in Bayside New York, where she did a dual program to earn her nursing degree. She worked at Harlem Hospital for 5 years before doing missionary work for 3 years. After her missionary work she moved to Silver Spring Maryland in the 1970's and started working at Washington Hospital Center. Brenda joined the Takoma Park SDA church in the 1980's. During this time Brenda was a foster mother to over 20 plus kids. After retiring in 1999 from Washington Hospital Center she did home care for 3 years and was a DC Public School Nurse for 4 years. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie E Johnson and Virginia Elizabeth Johnson. She is survived by her children Robert Hill Johnson (son), Latrice Hill Johnson (daughter), Faluna Johnson (daughter in law) and Jacob Emanuel Johnson (grandchild). She is survived by her brothers Garland (Brenda wife), Johnny Johnson (June wife), Bruce Johnson (Andi wife), Rodney Johnson (Mae wife), and Darrell Johnson (Mary wife) and her sister Priscilla Bass (William husband).
