Charles Raymond Bobo
November 20th, 1950 - January 10th, 2022
Charles (Chuck) Raymond Bobo, age 71, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. He was born November 12, 1950 in Lewellen, Nebraska to Roy and Shirley Bobo. Chuck graduated from high school in Merino, Colorado, and continued his education at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. Having a strong urge to follow in his father's footsteps and serve his country, he interrupted his education and served 16 months in Vietnam with the Army. Upon his return from service, he met and fell in love with Maureen Ruby. They were married on June 1, 1974 on the Ruby farm in Hillrose, Colorado. He completed his education at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Fishery Biology. Chuck worked for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for 34 years. He was the Superintendent of the Loa Fish Hatchery for 11 years, and the Midway Fish Hatchery for 22 years. He truly enjoyed the process of raising fish from eggs to planting them in reservoirs in Utah. His greatest challenge and reward was the rebuilding of the Midway Fish Hatchery. Upon retirement he and his wife Maureen, moved to Denver, Colorado to be near family and grandchildren. His greatest joy was being involved in his grandchildren’s lives. He also worked part time at the Homestead Golf Course to keep himself busy and for enjoyment. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Shirley Bobo, his sisters Penny Sue and Lanalle, and brother-in-law, Ron Lechman. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maureen, two children; Heather (Derek) Bowman, and Summer (Mike) Danser; sibling Reb (Karen) Bobo; grandchildren Lacy, Emery, Zoey Bowman, CJ (Ariel), Tayah, and Addison Danser, and several nieces and nephews. Services: A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date, which will allow for an event worthy of Charles R. Bobo.
