Blanca Yolanda Davies
February 24th, 1938 - January 20th, 2020
Blanca Yolanda Davies, 81, of Boonsboro, Md. formerly of Hyattsville, Md. went to be with our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born February 25, 1938 in Quito, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Victor Manuel Vargas and Rosa Vargas Ricalde. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Richard William Davies and her brother Hugo Vargas. Yolanda was a parishioner of St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Hyattsville, Md. Yolanda was a woman of strong faith and values, who adored her family and always looked forward to times spent together, especially birthdays and holidays. She retired from Homer Optical in 2007 after 25 years of service Yolanda is survived by her two daughters; Christine Anderson (William) of Bowie, Md. and Anita Colliere (Patrick) of Boonsboro, Md. ; six sisters, María Del Carmen Paredes of Quito, Ecuador, Fabiola Vargas of Germantown, Md. , Sonia Vargas of Germantown, Md. , Mariana Vargas of Quito, Ecuador, Graciela Jacome (Paco) of Quito, Ecuador and Anita Molina (Arturo) of Wheaton, Md. Four Brothers; Jorge Vargas (Maria Del Carmen) of Centreville, Va. , Edgar Vargas (Carmen) of Monroe, Ct. , Patricio Vargas (Cecilia) of Rockville, Md and Carlos Vargas (Rosa Angelica) of Sterling, Va. Seven Grandchildren; Dallon Anderson, Sebastian Davis, Luke Anderson, Naomi Anderson, Trey Colliere, Russell Colliere and Nicholas Colliere. In addition to her immediate family, she's survived by a host of nieces and nephews which she adored. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 12:00pm at Our Lady Queen of the America's Catholic Church; 2200 California Street NW Washington, DC 20008 Following the mass there will be a celebration of life in the church auditorium. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Yolanda’s name to Hospice of Washington County, Maryland.
