Dr. Norman Charles Licht

Norman Charles Licht, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the Hebrew Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. Due to weather conditions, the service time has been changed to 2:00PM Wednesday. Norman served in the U.S. Army from 1948 - 1950. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit and earned his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. He taught for 35 years, including Bennett College, Greensboro, NC and Potsdam State University in Potsdam, NY. He was a devoted Detroit sports fan, including the Tigers’ MLB team. He worked for the Tigers as a Clubhouse Attendant at age 17. An avid Contract Bridge player, he was a Life Master and played well into his 80s. He loved old Western movies, watching sports on tv, and listening to his Detroit Tigers daily on Satellite Radio.He was preceded in death by sons, Dennis Paul and Ronald Jay. Norman is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Sandra; sons, David Bruce and wife Karen Heifetz Licht and Robert Alan and wife Germaine D'Aunoy; grandchildren, Jacob Heifitz-Licht, Bess Heifitz-Licht, Rachel Licht Guillot, Sara Licht, Alexandra Licht, Ryan Davis, and Aidan Davis; and great-granddaughter, Leila Pearl Guillot.
