Mrs. Catherine 'Fay' Cameron Powers, 85, of Greensboro, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Powers was born February 4, 1925, in Guilford County, to Archie and Ethel Jarrel, Cameron. She graduated from Pleasant Garden High School, was married to the late H. Frank Powers, and was a member of Hunter Hills Church, where she taught for over 25 years. She was a disabled WW II veteran, Past Commander and member of VFW Guilford County Post #20. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters and grandson, Jimmy Idol Jr.. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Powers is survived by her sons, Randy Powers and wife Lou, Rick Powers Sr. and wife Bea Kay; daughters, Sherry Russell and husband Steve, Cathy Johnson and husband Mike; sister, Beulah Hathaway and husband F. A.; grandchildren, Carl Powers, Rick Powers Jr. (Christy), Steve Powers (Tami), Zach Russell, Matthew Brady, Daniel Russell, Logan Brady, Spencer Brady, Pricilla Idol (wife of Jimmy Idol Jr.), and Chrissie Idol; 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home and at other times at the family home.
