Madeline Allen

Ms Madeline E. Allen, 93, formerly of Greensboro, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Reverend Ken Broman-Fulks officiating. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge conducted by Reverend Ken Broman-Fulks and Chaplain Nancy Williams-Berry.. Ms Allen was born February 3, 1916, in Guilford County, to Sims and Kate Grubbs Allen. She retired from Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company in February of 1981, after 40 years of service. She was active in the choir and Sunday school at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and more recently was a member of First Presbyterian Church of High Point. Ms Allen is survived by her niece, Judy McAuley Chidley and husband John, of Richmond, VA; great niece Jennifer E. Prunty and husband Robert, of Fairfax, VA; great nephew, Matthew A. Chidley, of Richmond, VA; cousins, Lucille Bowman, Paul Stockton, Billy Allen and wife Rochia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 Tuesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
