Patricia Hicks

Mrs. Patricia Ann Hicks, 67, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 6th, at CrossPoint Church of Greensboro, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Jeff Smith. Mrs. Hicks was born in Greensboro, May 3, 1944, to George W. and Ollie Hillard Stanley. She was the wife of the late Ira Hicks Jr. Mom was the most giving person that we have ever known. She would give you the last can of pintos or the last pack of lunchmeat that she had if it would help you and your family. The grandkids will miss her sense of humor and her young spirit because it seemed like grandma could relate to each of her grandkids, no matter their age. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her daughter, Tonya L. Lovelace; sons, Marty Dale Hicks and wife Sarah, Dwight W. Hicks and wife Mary Ann; sister, Vallie Thorpe; brothers, Archie Stanley and wife Nancy, Troy Stanley and wife Louise, Howard Stanley and wife Peggy, Clayton Stanley and wife Lou; seven grandchildren. The family would like to thank Mom's close friends. Without their support, Mom's last days would have been worse than they were. Mom would light up anytime they would come to visit and she often spoke of them being a blessing to her.
