Jane Sutton

Mrs. Jane Stack Sutton, 73, of Pleasant Garden, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend John Muncy officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Sutton was born in Guilford County, February 16, 1938 to James and Jessie Wheeler Stack. She attended Guilford School and graduated in 1972 from Dundalk Evening High School. In 1974 she became a licensed Tree Expert for the State of Maryland Forest Service, and 1978 Dundalk Community College an Associates degree in Alcoholism Counseling. After moving to North Carolina she worked in motels as a desk clerk until 2005. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her grandchildren were a big part of her life and her presence in their lives will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Mark Stone and Francis Sutton, daughters, Toni Stone and Melissa Sutton, and a grandson, Christopher Hill. Mrs. Sutton is survived by her daughter Donna Ferguson and husband Robert; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Peeden and husband Larry; a brother, James W. Stack Jr. and wife Phyllis. The family will receive friends fro 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ruth and Larry Peeden.
